The Jaseman Collection of LEGO Classic Space Models is a set of collectable building instructions. The intention is that there will be a total of 100 models - 25x Ships, 25x Rovers, 25x Bases, 25x Misc Items. New models will be added to the collection periodically and each will be modified and improved. If you have purchased one of the model instructions, you will recieve a free update each time the model is improved.

Every model contains only LEGO parts that were used within the original Classic Space theme from 1978-1987.

Ships

S01 Pursuit Immobiliser

This short-range mini pursuit ship is equipped to unload a barrage of firepower from it's multiple forward laser cannons. It is a fast and nimble little fighter with a large single rocket at the rear supported by two more thrusters on either side. Agility and firepower all packaged up in an armoured shell that emits a protective force shield around the pilot. A small squadron of Pursuit Immobilisers can effectively disable mobile or static enemy weaponry or confidently go head to head in dogfights. The ship holds together well and rates highly on swooshability.

S02 Bluebird / Blackbird

When you need to escape fast, The Bluebird is the ideal one-man planet-hopper. The shuttle has no manual flight controls therefore no piloting skills are required. Simply choose your destination from thousands of predefined locations, and the flight navigation computers will do the rest. The flight computer is programmed with advanced tactical battle maneuvers and collision avoidance systems. Four laser cannons offer precision firepower. The battle computers are linked to an extensive database of spaceship design specifications so that it can accurately target key areas and effectively disable the weapon systems and engines of attackers. The front section of the shuttle is equipt with a powerful force shield to deflect enemy fire. Should any of the twelve rocket thrusters be damaged, they are shutdown and power equalisation systems manage the thrust to keep the shuttle on track. This shuttle is not designed to be an attack ship. Primarily Bluebird is designed to transport personnel between bases and planets rapidly and avoid confrontations - Not that there are likely to be many, since most ships will struggle to keep up.

The Blackbird is an upgraded shuttle with all the same features as Bluebird, but loaded with stealth technologies. For those that can afford it, Blackbird will make you not only fast, but also invisible.

S03 Scout Patroller

The Scout Patroller is a light surface skimmer with twin 'stinger' lasers and tail-mounted force shields. Whilst it has low firepower, it is inexpensive. They tend to patrol in large fleets - The tactic being to overwhelm enemies with sheer numbers and speed. The ship is not intended to be used for attacks, but rather for pre-attack recon missions. The ship is notoriously dangerous and has a poor track record with many instances of fatal crashes. Scout Patroller fleets are regarded by many as 'cannon-fodder'. Pilots are required to maintain a high level of alertness at all times and must have quick responses. With plenty of frequent flight practice, the scout patroller can prove to be a valuable asset - In the wrong hands - Lethal!

S11 Icarus

Many are enchanted by the simple elegance and styling of the Icarus, making it a much sought-after fighter.

The Icarus shares much of the technology that the S25 Explorer is built upon. This smaller one-man ship is more agile and rugged than its bigger sister.

Icarus has twin laser cannons at the front and more mounted to the wings. The cockpit is fitted with computer terminals behind the pilot which have voice recognition and tactical battle assistance. If the pilot fails to take adequate avoidance measures against incoming enemy fire, the battle computers will take temporary control to perform complex maneuvers that can be calculated far faster than the pilot can comprehend. Once the danger has passed, flight control returns to the pilot. The ship is powered by four rocket engines.

S18 Hover Speeder

The hover speeder is a low-cost, low-altitude, light, short-range speed skimmer. It can be used for racing or rapid attack strikes. The ultra-sleek wings have small force shields mounted at the centre and also feature retro rocket thrusters and forward lasers. The angle of the wings can be adjusted in two direction. The main body of the ship has forward cannons and twin rocket propulsion. Behind the pilot are two cone-shaped radar scanners to warn of incoming enemy fighters.

S19 J's Speeder

This bulky speeder was hand-built from old scraps of farming technology. It requires several vents and heat sinks to avoid overheating. The old-fashioned appearance is deceptive for J's Speeder can match the performance of far smaller modern land speeders. The speeder has several turbo lasers and cannons as well as self-updating, highly detailed, extensive computer terrain mapping data and advanced mechanical failure redundancy systems.

S20 Liberator Unmanned Defence Ship

The Liberator is a small unmanned ship that orbits planets and monitors for incoming space vehicles or other objects as well as monitoring the surface of the planet for weather, temperature and other fluctuations. The ship streams information constantly to ground-based computer centres.

The ship is fitted with laser cannons that are capable of breaking apart meteors and rock or attacking incoming enemy ships.

The onboard computer has advanced AI capabilities and is able to open communications with incoming ships and request identity verification as well as sending warnings and statistical information back to the computer center. 'Liberator Teams' can work together to coordinate defence attacks against incoming hostile craft, however may prove ineffective against large fleets or heavily shielded ships.

The ship design is based on an a larger alien ship of unknown origin called 'Deep Space Vehicle 2 (DSV2) / Liberator'.

S25 Explorer

The Explorer is the flagship of the fleet. This large general purpose ship can carry either a small rover, cargo pallette, astronauts or tools. The rear section opens up to access the cargo area. The pilot and co-pilot seats are very comfortable with adjustable headrests, console and controls.

On the wings, there are specially designed engine mounts, which allow easy installation of a choice of engine types including a large single rocket configuration per wing, or multiple smaller rocket engines. Weapons include twin laser cannons at the front, wing mounted missiles and a large range of additional laser weapons mounted to the underside of the ship. The landing legs are height-adjustable, allowing the ship to land on uneven surfaces when landing pads are not available.

Due to the ship being very heavy, advanced engine performance enhancements have been installed which greatly boost power output whilst providing excellent fuel economy. This cutting-edge technology gives the ship a very good travel range, making the Explorer suitable for interplanetary journeys and exploration missions far out into space. Whilst there are faster small ships available, none are able to match the Explorer's cargo capacity to speed ratio.

There have been many upgrades and variants of this class of ship since its conception. It is a design that has proven to be extremely popular and adaptable over many years of service and remains the number one choice of ship for many space couriers, exploration teams and colony builders.

Rovers

R01 Buggy

This small rover is fitted with the later-period classic space wheels and rounded headlights. It is an ideal way for a technician to get around the moon colony to carry out quick repairs and maintenance tasks.

Behind the driver, an antenna boosts the signal for the hand-held radio. Torch and loud-haler utensils are also stowed high up behind the driver. A small detachable trailer carries samples or small items in a container box, and a spanner and hand radio are clipped to the sides for quick access. The buggy is designed to keep dust and dirt away from the driver and equipment whilst being open, so that the technician can easily hop out, grab his tools and get straight to work.

R02 Tanker

The R02 Tanker has a cluster of 4 tanks with a pump and two hoses at the rear. The contents can be monitored from within the cabin or from the panels on either side.

The wheels are heavy-duty with two rear axles to cope with extra load. The cabin pivots a little way although tight turning circles may be troublesome for this vehicle. There are green warning lights on top and to the side of the cabin.

The Tanker is suitable for most liquids including fuels, toxic and corrosive chemicals.

R05 Ground Survey Vehicle

The ground survey vehicle is equipped with various surface and deep level geo-organic, seismic, chemical and radiation scanning technologies mounted to multi-jointed pivoting arms for narrow or wide field scanning. Eight balloon tyres help it over rugged terrain or soft sand. A fully enclosed cabin keeps the driver comfortable in hot or cold conditions with good all-round visibility from the trans-dark blue tinted windows. Above the cabin is a medium range communications dish and the solar array allows recharging capability for long distance investigations.

R06 Billy Starbeam Buggy

The 'Billy Starbeam' was named after the builder that created an early prototype of this buggy.

This small rover is great for getting around the moon base in style and is capable both on and off road.

R07 Dune Bug

The Dune Bug is as tough as they come and easy to maintain. This compact sand buggy has a simple yet beautiful design. The windscreen is perfect to repel rocks that might fly up from other rovers. The front and back headlights are mounted high up to avoid damage. At the front, you can access the charging point by raising the hinged cover.

With its cute looks and highly customisable potential, this vehicle is sure to become a much loved classic.

R11 Supply Transporter

The Supply Transporter is the perfect solution for long-distance cargo haulage.

The cabin is equipt with sleeping quarters and also features self-driving computer technology.

By default the R11 pulls two trailers, however it can be adapted for more trailers as required.

Bases

B01 Sleep Module

After a hard day on the moon base it is time to snuggle up and catch some shut-eye in your own personal sleep module.

Trans-yellow windows are set back behind triangular openings to avoid and feeling of claustrophobia and to create an ambience. Air conditioning units to the rear of the module constantly monitor conditions to keep you toasty warm when you are frozen and cool in extreme heat environments.

Four small corner lamps can be dimmed to your preference and a range of soothing sounds can be activated from sea waves, chirping crickets, howling winds, jungle sounds, whale song, bird song, soft soothing music or audio books - all carefully selected to help you drift off to sleep.

Advanced sound insulation blocks out the passing rocket ship roars, hover ship whooshing and the hum of electric rover buggies.

On the roof the CS flag flies proudly and 4 green lamps help you locate your nest in a blizzard or sand storm. The roof can also be used as an observation platform - for watching others do all the work whilst you take a well deserved break.

B02 Rocket Launch Pad

The Rocket Launch Pad features computer terminals and fuelling points on each side. The support tower opens out when the rocket is ready for launch. Some of the flame and heat is retained within the base of the Launch Pad, however it is essential that all Astronauts and Vehicles move to a safe distance prior to launch.

The computer terminals monitor the status of the rocket, and manage the timer control. Sirens and red and green alternating lights warn when evacuation is required.

B03 Moonbase

At the early stages of colonisation, one or more of these standard moonbase modules are deployed to site. Each module can be adapted and fitted out with beds, tables or computer consoles, or they can be unpopulated and used as storage units.

The back wall features four windows, and the roof has four skylights. The roof also contains a large communication dish which can be rotated and angled in order to send updates and requests back to headquarters or to relay information to other settlements or fleets. The interior is well lit and there are 8 roof-level voice-activated computer monitors that can be configured to display a range of information from nearby remote survey units. At either side of the module there are wall mounted tools and equipment.

On the outer edges of the module are interface ports for connecting additional oxygen tanks and battery recharging equipment or solar arrays.

B15 Space Shuttle Mk2

(Part of Flight Training School - Note: Full instructions pending - currently only the shuttle instructions are available - Instructions for the school are not yet included)
At the Flight Training School, rookie pilots are put through their paces in the class room and also in the skies using the Training Space Shuttle Mk2.

For many years the Space Shuttle was a workhorse that had a reputation for reliability. Now no longer in active service, this Mk2 version is used as a training ship for rookie pilots and also for aerobatic shows.

Should it be called for - The Mk2 can still be extremely effective in battle.

B23 Computer Centre

All key missions are monitored, overseen and commanded from the Computer Centre. Moonbases, small outposts, ships, rovers and exploration teams report progress, findings, events and incidents.

The Computer Centre personnel work in shifts around the clock to provide instruction, support and advice as well as relaying and recording information. All information that passes through the Computer Centre is documented, forwarded, and filed in duplicate to offsite server room facilties.

High ranking officers receive daily briefings from the Computer Centre and are tasked with making decisions which are sometimes difficult. Their commands are then distributed via the Computer Centre to the various mission teams to execute as appropriate.

The Computer Centre also acts as a broadcasting and information centre.

M01 Large Claw Exo

The Large Claw Exo is a bipedal vehicle for heavy lifting, moving and assembly.

M02 Ground Defence Laser Cannon

The Ground Defence Laser Cannon is a stationary weapons system.

The cannon can tilt vertically from zero to forty-five degrees and rotate through 360 degrees. It is equipped with a fully adjustable seat and a powerful, high-tech targeting view finder which features night vision, heat and movement sensors, auto-lock and follow, range detection and visual identification database. There are two fully shielded power units to the underside of the cannon with trans-red low-charge warning indicator lights.

Choose from turbo-laser, pulse beam, particle beam, plasma bolt, ion cannon, flare, flame thrower or water cannon. There is also a directed sound weapon and high intensity strobe light to deter enemies with lesser intensity.

With a battery of cannons at strategic locations, you can ensure your base is completely covered with ground to air defence capability.

M03 Walker

The Walker Exo is a weaponised biped featuring twin side-mounted turbo lasers and a central light cannon. The tail helps provide balance and stability and has high level exhausts. The legs have a good range of movement for keeping the body balanced over rugged terrain. Side mounted force sheilds protect the driver from incoming enemy laser fire.

M04 Moonstalker II

The Moonstalker II is an upgrade to a popular land-based crawler which carries multiple rockets and features a robotic claw at the rear. The vehicle can carry two astronauts in detachable cockpit pods.

As well as asthetic design improvements this version has a rocket capacity of four - doubled from the original model.
